Global Nomad Practices and Planning

This unit synthesizes practical, legal, cultural, and business skills needed to launch and sustain a digital nomad lifestyle. Students will examine international visa and travel requirements, build client-acquisition and remote-work systems, and create routines and resilience strategies while comparing living arrangements and costs across destinations.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze legal and logistical requirements for remote work in multiple countries by comparing visa types, application steps, documentation needs, and proof-of-concept criteria for at least five destinations
• Apply client-acquisition techniques and remote-work tool selection to produce a 30-day actionable plan that targets initial clients, sets up workflows, and measures early performance
• Demonstrate cultural adaptability and personal resilience by developing a written integration and wellbeing strategy that addresses cultural adjustment, loneliness mitigation, community-building, and consistent daily routines
• Evaluate living-arrangement options (e.g., van life, short-term rentals, co-living) and their financial implications to create a comparative budget and decision brief aligned to personal and career goals
