This capstone unit synthesizes practitioner perspectives on AI, e-discovery, data science, and legal operations to prepare students to design, communicate, and manage AI-driven solutions in legal settings. Students will translate expert insights into implementable plans, assess risks and ethics, and create career-focused action steps to overcome adoption barriers.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze insights from industry interviews to identify at least three best practices for integrating AI into legal workflows, including e-discovery and data management
- Apply AI-enabled tools and e-discovery principles to develop a documented implementation plan that specifies stakeholders, timeline, success metrics, and risk mitigations for a hypothetical firm project
- Demonstrate effective professional communication by delivering a concise (10–15 minute) stakeholder briefing or pitch that explains the proposed AI solution, anticipated benefits, and ethical considerations
- Evaluate personal and organizational barriers to AI adoption and produce a measurable professional development and change-management action plan with milestones to address those barriers
