Decision Framing and Information Literacy

This unit introduces strategies for documenting, reframing, and searching information to improve human-resources decision making in an AI-augmented workplace. Students learn evidence-based note-taking, how to turn operational headwinds into strategic tailwinds, and how to recognize and correct search and selection biases that undermine HR analysis and AI inputs.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze HR scenarios to identify cognitive biases and information gaps that affect decision making (including examples of the Drunkard’s Search).
• Apply structured note-taking and documentation techniques to capture stakeholder needs, evidence, and rationale for HR decisions.
• Demonstrate reframing strategies that convert obstacles into opportunities and produce actionable HR plans that align with organizational goals.
• Evaluate information-seeking and search-design approaches to reduce bias and improve the quality of data used in human-resources processes and AI-assisted tools.
