Metaverse, Web3, NFTs, and AI Integration

This capstone unit synthesizes metaverse design, Web3 digital identity, non‑fungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and artificial intelligence (AI) to prepare students to design and evaluate immersive, tokenized experiences. Students will prototype solutions, assess business and ethical implications, and recommend secure, scalable architectures for real‑world application.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze components and design principles of world‑class metaverse experiences by evaluating multiple platform architectures, interaction models, and UX patterns and producing a documented design brief for a prototype environment.
• Evaluate Web3 digital identity and governance options by comparing decentralized identity solutions and DAO governance models, and recommending an approach that addresses privacy, security, and user control.
• Apply NFT concepts and tokenomics by creating a simple NFT asset and outlining a tokenized asset lifecycle and DAO governance structure using industry tools or simulation environments.
• Demonstrate how AI can augment metaverse experiences and business viability by integrating at least one AI capability into a prototype and producing a concise business case that includes ROI estimates and an ethical risk assessment.
