Scaling and Sustaining Agile Transformations

This capstone unit focuses on organizational-level practices that sustain and scale agile ways of working. Students learn to detect and remedy faux-agile behaviors, apply industry frameworks and governance to improve predictability and investment control, and lead structural, tooling, and people changes that increase team morale and long-term product delivery performance.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze organizational metrics, performance visibility signals, and common failure indicators to identify gaps, slipping changes, and instances of faux agile
• Apply Disciplined Agile, ICAgile, and Business Agility Institute practices to design a transition plan, product roadmap alignment, and investment-control mechanisms that empower Product Owners and improve predictability
• Demonstrate leadership and team-structure interventions—including psychological safety practices, developer versatility strategies, and learning support—to increase team morale, predictability, and sustained performance
• Evaluate tooling, automation, and AI resources alongside governance factors (e.g., Scrum Master influence, manager-to-creator ratio) to prioritize work over tools and recommend optimization opportunities for long-term scaling
