Project Execution, Monitoring, and Communication

This unit develops students’ ability to monitor and control project work through scheduling, earned value analysis, status reporting, and stakeholder communication. It emphasizes practical skills—meeting facilitation, change-control responses, estimating activity durations, and managing interpersonal dynamics—to align project performance with scope, time, cost, and quality expectations while referencing PMP/PMBOK concepts.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze project performance using earned value metrics (PV, EV, AC, CPI, SPI) and interpret variances to recommend corrective actions
• Apply scheduling techniques and estimation methods (critical path, Gantt, sequencing, analogous/parametric/three-point estimates) to develop and justify a baseline project schedule
• Prepare professional written progress reports and use social media and structured meetings to communicate status, document change requests, and engage stakeholders
• Evaluate team dynamics and constraints, and demonstrate facilitation and change-control strategies to address micromanagement, requested changes, and keep project deliverables aligned with objectives
