Production, Distribution, and Promotion

This unit advances foundational recording and editing skills into full production workflows, covering video integration, live streaming, portable recording, accessory selection, troubleshooting, and basic Audacity operations. Students will also learn hosting, uploading, SEO, social promotion, and AI-assisted content tools to publish and promote episodes; it builds on earlier technical fundamentals and prepares learners to launch and evaluate professional podcast projects in the final unit.

Learning Objectives

• Apply advanced production workflows to prepare publishable episodes for both audio and video platforms, using tools such as RØDE Streamer X, portable recorders, cloud transfers, and Audacity for editing and export
• Evaluate and select accessories, recording setups, and troubleshooting protocols to ensure consistent, high-quality recordings across studio, remote, and live scenarios
• Demonstrate content-structuring and guest-management techniques—including creating effective intros/outros, deciding between outlines and scripts, determining episode length, and prepping a green room—to produce coherent episodes
• Create and implement a distribution and promotion plan that includes uploading to podcast hosts and YouTube, optimizing metadata for SEO, leveraging social media, and using prompt-engineering strategies to enhance discoverability
