Production-to-Distribution Workflow

This unit integrates advanced production, post-production, and distribution practices to take a digital media project from final pre-production through delivery and archiving. Students synthesize creative and technical skills—camera, lighting, sound, editing, DCP preparation, festival strategy, and backups—to produce professional, distribution-ready media.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze genre, tone, location, and production design to produce storyboards, shot lists, and a complete pre-production package that supports visual continuity and narrative intent
• Apply principles of camera, lens, lighting, and microphone selection to configure and operate production setups that achieve targeted image and audio quality on location and in studio
• Demonstrate professional on-set and post-production procedures, including running levels and room tone capture, continuity logging, sound design, editing workflows, and preparation of deliverables (including DCP) for client-ready delivery
• Evaluate distribution and marketing pathways by assembling festival-ready assets, developing a campaign roadmap, and implementing archiving and backup strategies that preserve project integrity and accessibility
