Hyperintelligence Futures & Implications

This capstone unit synthesizes advanced concepts from the Hyperintelligence pathway to evaluate how emerging AI, robotics, longevity technologies, and complexity science will reshape business, security, and society. Students integrate technical, ethical, and strategic perspectives to produce actionable plans and policy recommendations for real-world stakeholders.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze interconnections among advanced topics (e.g., AI swarms, personal AI, designer robots, machine dominance, longevity, and complexity measures) to construct three plausible socio-economic scenarios and justify each with evidence from unit lessons.
• Evaluate ethical, legal, and national security risks and opportunities associated with hyperintelligent systems by completing a risk–benefit assessment and proposing at least three mitigation or governance strategies tailored to business or public-sector contexts.
• Apply systems-thinking and quantitative complexity measures to design a scalable business or public policy plan (including safety, resource, and governance components) that leverages specific AI/robotics capabilities to achieve a defined strategic outcome.
• Demonstrate professional communication and leadership by producing a written capstone briefing and delivering a 10–15 minute stakeholder presentation that synthesizes unit insights and provides actionable recommendations.
