Résumé, CV, and Interview Mastery

This unit synthesizes résumé/CV construction, portfolio development, and interview/presentation strategies to prepare learners for effective job search and career transition. Students will refine document formats, craft targeted asset statements, practice handling interview questions (including salary and change-related topics), and assemble a professional application portfolio.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze job postings and employer needs to select and justify the most effective résumé/CV format (e.g., keyword, chronological, functional, academic, international, paper, e-CV) and identify keywords for tailoring applications
• Apply professional writing techniques to draft, revise, and format targeted résumé and CV sections (education, experience, skills, competencies, honours, licences, activities) and produce polished asset statements
• Demonstrate effective interview and presentation strategies by organizing content, employing rhetorical devices, answering behavioral and unconventional questions, addressing corporate change and salary discussions, and delivering professional conclusions
• Evaluate personal employability skills using self-assessment worksheets and spin-control strategies, and integrate feedback to refine a cohesive job-search portfolio (résumé/CV, cover letter, and work samples)
