Executing Project Plans and Teams

This unit focuses on the execution and control elements of project management: developing communications and assumption logs, constructing schedules and work breakdown structures, assigning resources and responsibilities, identifying risks, and applying leadership and recognition practices. Students will align these activities with PMBOK 7/PMP concepts and prepare to apply them in practicum and real-world project settings.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze stakeholder needs, communication requirements, and project assumptions to create a Communications Management Plan and an assumptions/constraints log aligned with PMBOK 7 and PMP exam concepts
• Apply work breakdown structure and scheduling techniques to develop a project schedule with defined activities, dependencies, durations, milestones, and assigned resources
• Demonstrate risk identification and resource planning by documenting potential issues, contingency responses, and required material and human resources, including methods to acknowledge performance
• Evaluate team roles, leadership strategies, and ethical communication practices to assign responsibilities, resolve conflicts, and sustain team performance during project execution
