This unit prepares students to finalize and deliver a polished UX project by applying enduring UX principles, user-centered advocacy, and best-practice techniques. Students will synthesize prior learning to complete a capstone prototype, document rationale tied to user evidence, and produce a plan for launch and iterative improvement.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze capstone artifacts and usability test results to identify and prioritize remaining design, accessibility, and performance gaps for project completion
- Apply user-centered documentation techniques to justify final design decisions by producing personas, user-need mappings, and evidence-based design rationales
- Demonstrate implementation of at least five best-practice UX methods (e.g., accessibility, responsive design, concise microcopy, performance optimization, iterative testing) within a functional prototype
- Evaluate final designs against ten enduring UX principles and produce a measurable improvement plan that maps specific UI/UX changes to expected user outcomes (e.g., task success, time on task, satisfaction)
