Windows 11: Everyday Operations

This unit develops practical Windows 11 skills for everyday use, focusing on system configuration, file and device management, basic security, troubleshooting, and common productivity and multimedia tools. It builds on introductory concepts and prepares students for more advanced networking, security, and administrative tasks in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Apply Windows 11 system and account configuration settings (power options, accessibility features, user accounts, device preferences) to meet defined user scenarios
• Demonstrate file and folder management and sharing techniques by saving, locating, transferring (network and external drive), and restoring files as well as configuring shared folders and printers
• Evaluate and apply basic maintenance and security procedures including virus avoidance/removal, freeing disk space, restarting and using troubleshooters, and leveraging support resources (Get Help, Ask the Microsoft Community)
• Analyze and integrate common productivity and multimedia tools (Microsoft Edge, online meetings, Clipchamp, Paint, scanning, voice typing, Copilot interactions) into efficient workflows
