This unit introduces core Flutter concepts and practical skills for building multi-screen mobile apps. Students will learn navigation and data passing, widget composition and nesting, basic animations and motion, debugging and code critique practices, and how to set up and test a development environment across devices.
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate navigation between pages and the transfer of data using Flutter’s routing and Navigator patterns in multi-screen applications
- Apply widget composition, nesting, and layout principles to create visually consistent, responsive interfaces that adapt to different device sizes
- Analyze Flutter code to identify and correct logic errors (including precedence/parentheses issues), scope and variable access problems, and visual layout defects using debugging techniques
- Evaluate and improve code quality through self- and peer-review, implement styling and accessibility refinements, and configure a development environment for building and testing mobile apps
