Advanced ChatGPT Prompting Applications

This unit advances foundational ChatGPT skills into targeted prompt engineering, model tuning, and domain-specific workflows. Students learn to tailor prompts (temperature, weights, styles, roles), produce and post-process outputs for creative, educational, healthcare, and financial contexts, and evaluate ethical and accessibility considerations to prepare for real-world deployment.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze how prompt parameters (temperature, model weights, positive/negative directions, and closed vs. open questioning) influence ChatGPT outputs by producing and comparing variant responses across at least three parameter configurations
• Apply structured prompting strategies—including process instructions, specified vocabulary, roles/personalities, and GPT Minis—to convert workplace or classroom processes into reproducible prompts that generate complete deliverables (e.g., articles, lesson plans, scripts, data summaries)
• Demonstrate creation, iterative refinement, and final rendering of creative and technical artifacts (journalistic stories, poetry, RPG narratives, video scripts) using appropriate post-production and formatting techniques
• Evaluate domain-specific and ethical considerations (accessibility/special education supports, healthcare consultation limits, financial monetization implications, and cognitive impacts) and recommend safeguards, documentation, and deployment approaches for responsible use
