Advanced Outlook Organization and Collaboration

This unit builds on foundational Outlook skills to develop advanced message, calendar, task, and data-management techniques for professional agribusiness communication. Students will practice customizing interfaces, safeguarding data, and using collaboration tools to increase efficiency and accuracy in workplace contexts.

Learning Objectives

• Apply advanced message and data-management techniques in Microsoft Outlook by arranging messages, saving messages as files, managing Outlook data files, performing backups, and resending or translating messages as needed
• Demonstrate efficient calendar and task coordination by sharing and handling multiple calendars, tracking time zones, using the Go to Date dialog, viewing daily task lists, marking tasks complete, and creating to-do lists
• Analyze and customize Outlook interfaces and workflows by customizing columns and tabular views, grouping and sorting items, saving custom views, applying categories, and creating Quick Steps and signatures to improve productivity
• Evaluate and implement professional communication practices by creating contact records for email recipients, printing meeting attendee lists, taking and saving notes, using undo features, and applying appropriate resending and repeat-message procedures
