AI in Human Services Practice

This unit examines how artificial intelligence is changing human services work, focusing on care delivery, companionship, workplace dynamics, and the political and ethical issues that arise. Students will study case scenarios, evaluate responsible-AI principles, and develop personal and professional strategies for adapting to AI-driven change.

• Analyze the technological, workplace, and societal impacts of AI on human services roles, including changes in job tasks, power dynamics, and organizational decision-making
• Evaluate case studies and media examples (e.g., Emergency Medical Hologram, Minority Report) to identify AI strengths, limitations, and ethical risks in providing care and companionship
