Auditing, Reporting, and Exam Readiness

This unit advances students’ mastery of audit planning and evidence, financial statement presentation, taxation, and professional responsibilities as they prepare for the CPA Exam. Instruction integrates technical topics (inventory, receivables, fixed assets, multi‑step income statements, commercial paper), not-for-profit considerations, and practical exam logistics and ethics to build readiness for the capstone unit.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze audit planning, internal control, evidence, and engagement documentation to form conclusions and determine appropriate reporting and review procedures for accounting and review engagements
• Apply accounting and reporting standards to prepare and interpret financial statements and related analyses, including multi-step income statements, inventory and inventory turnover, receivable turnover, fixed asset accounting, commercial paper, and debtor-creditor relationships
• Demonstrate knowledge of taxation and regulatory topics relevant to the CPA Exam by preparing and evaluating scenarios for individual (Form 1040), business, and not-for-profit taxation, and explaining employment regulation implications
• Evaluate CPA Exam structure, grading, and test‑day procedures and apply professional responsibilities (contracts, engagement letters, ethics) and pre-exam considerations to ensure readiness and compliance
