This unit examines how AI and spatial computing technologies (AR, 3D, autonomous systems) have evolved into business-ready solutions, surveying categories of AI software, technical components, and industry examples. Students explore business and human benefits, implementation challenges, technology selection, UX implications, and future trends to prepare for hands-on integration in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze the evolution and current landscape of AI and spatial computing, including categories of AI software and core technical components, to summarize industry-relevant capabilities and examples.
• Evaluate business benefits, human impacts, challenges, and ethical considerations of AR/AI adoption and autonomous systems, and recommend viable use cases for at least two industry sectors.
• Apply technology-selection and integration criteria to develop a basic implementation plan that addresses 3D asset needs, vendor choices, and enhanced user experience for a defined business problem.
• Demonstrate understanding of future trends, customer engagement strategies, and autonomous robots/vehicles by creating a brief that links UX approaches and emerging capabilities to measurable business outcomes.
