Exam and Report Writing Prep

This unit develops targeted skills for the written components of the police officer entry process, including reading comprehension, grammar, incident report writing, and essay/personal history composition, while also covering practical test-day procedures and basic physical preparation. It builds on foundational knowledge and practice from earlier units and readies candidates for comprehensive review and simulated testing in the final unit.

• Analyze reading comprehension passages and practice questions to select accurate, evidence-based answers for NYC-style exam items.
• Apply grammar and spelling conventions to produce clear, correctly formatted responses and to compose a coherent personal history statement and incident report.
• Demonstrate effective test-taking strategies and time-management techniques, including best-guess selection and adherence to test-day procedures, during timed practice sections and test events.
• Evaluate and implement basic nutrition, strength-training, and arrival routines to optimize physical readiness and cognitive performance on exam and test-event days.
