Flutter App Features and Best Practices

This capstone unit reinforces practical Flutter and Dart skills by focusing on lists, layout, data fetching, asset/dependency management, user interaction, and navigation. Students will also learn to apply Dart style guidelines, add required imports, and prepare apps for continued development or deployment.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze existing Flutter/Dart code to identify and correct layout, ListView, and navigation issues, producing a prioritized list of fixes
• Apply ListView.builder with correct itemCount, declare assets and dependencies in pubspec.yaml, and fetch JSON or other data from the internet using appropriate imports and error handling
• Demonstrate interactive app behavior by implementing user input handling, route-based navigation, and dynamic updates to lists or screens, then validate functionality with test scenarios
• Evaluate code quality against Dart language guidelines (including indentation and imports), document setup steps, and produce a checklist for finalizing and moving the project forward
