Foundations of AI Value Creation

This unit introduces the core concepts, organizational conditions, and technical requirements needed to identify and deliver business value from AI initiatives. Students will learn how to assess use‑case potential, design enterprise integration and data pipelines, address trust and explainability, and plan executable AI projects that overcome cultural and operational barriers, preparing them for deeper technical and applied work in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze business processes, domain knowledge, and data assets to identify and prioritize at least three high‑value AI use cases using an AI industry use case approach and a data value framework
• Apply principles of enterprise integration by creating a high‑level implementation plan that specifies required capabilities, technology requirements for an AI pipeline, and integration touchpoints with existing systems
• Demonstrate methods to create trust and explainability by developing an output‑based selection rationale and an explainability outline for a selected AI use case
• Evaluate organizational and cultural barriers to AI adoption and produce a project management and change management plan with measurable finish‑line metrics to mitigate risks and ensure an executable AI strategy
