Governance and Security for Azure OpenAI

This unit introduces enterprise governance, risk management, and security controls for deploying Generative AI with Azure OpenAI. Students examine common enterprise use cases, the shared AI responsibility model, regulatory and control frameworks, hosting options, and hands-on methods (MCSB and Azure Policy) to evaluate and enforce security at scale, preparing them for deployment and hardening activities in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze common enterprise generative AI use cases to identify security, privacy, and compliance risks and map those risks to stakeholder responsibilities
• Evaluate the shared AI responsibility model alongside applicable regulation and control frameworks to determine appropriate governance and oversight strategies
• Compare OpenAI hosting models and evaluate security controls using the Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark (MCSB) to recommend suitable control selections
• Demonstrate how to apply Azure Policy to enforce and scale selected security controls for Azure OpenAI deployments
