Interpersonal Communication and Presenting

This unit develops advanced interpersonal and presentation skills for professional settings, emphasizing audience analysis, message structuring, and effective delivery. Students practice negotiation, conflict resolution, feedback, interview and networking strategies, and prepare crisis- and objection-aware communications to strengthen workplace interactions.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze audience characteristics and goals to adapt message purpose, tone, direction, and scaffolding that increase clarity and alignment with stakeholder needs
• Apply structured presentation frameworks (e.g., 1-2-3), audience priming techniques, vocal strategies, and evocative metaphors to compose and deliver clear, persuasive presentations that anticipate objections
• Demonstrate negotiation, conflict-resolution, and feedback techniques—using questions, guardrails, and role definitions—to reach agreements, de-escalate disputes, and provide constructive input in simulated workplace scenarios
• Evaluate personal communication strengths and professional readiness by conducting self-assessments, defining team roles, developing interview and crisis-communication plans, and creating a networking approach that humanizes technology-driven interactions
