Leadership, Communication, and Project Execution

This unit develops advanced skills in leading teams, managing projects, and communicating persuasively in professional contexts. Students practice time-management, virtual leadership, negotiation and closing techniques, and reader-focused written and oral communication to deliver results and maintain stakeholder support.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze team roles, conflicts, cultural dynamics, and performance expectations to design and justify conflict-resolution and delegation strategies for in-person and virtual teams
• Apply time-management, prioritization, and productivity techniques (including time blocking, email workflows, and value-based decision making) to create and defend a personal and team work plan
• Demonstrate effective professional communication by producing reader-friendly written documents and oral messages that use appropriate tone, graphics, proofreading, and persuasive structure to achieve specified objectives
• Evaluate project plans and negotiation scenarios by documenting assumptions, setting opening offers, conducting key meetings, and recommending closing strategies that preserve relationships and meet stakeholder goals
