Logical Reasoning and Test Strategies

This unit develops core logical reasoning skills and practical test-taking strategies needed for the LSAT, including inference, assumption, strengthen/weaken, and reading‑comprehension techniques. Students will practice timed passage pacing, write and review a practice essay, learn scoring and test‑day preparation, and apply systematic approaches to typical LSAT question types.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze arguments to identify conclusions, premises, informal logic structures, and common assumption types in strengthen/weaken and inference questions
• Apply a systematic approach and timed pacing strategies to complete reading passages and logical reasoning questions within simulated LSAT time constraints
• Demonstrate the ability to construct and critique a practice LSAT essay and to use scoring guidelines to self-assess written performance
• Evaluate practice test results and implement targeted strategies to improve accuracy on disagreement/agreement, assumption, and weakening question types prior to next-unit advanced practice
