Optimizing and Future-Proofing Supply Chains

This capstone unit focuses on advanced strategies to optimize performance, reduce cost, increase revenue, and future‑proof supply chains through technology, analytics, sustainability, and risk management. Students synthesize tools and practices—ERP/CRM/SRM, AI, BI, control towers, circular-economy approaches, and crisis/sandbox simulations—to design resilient, omnichannel, and ethically grounded supply chain solutions.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze supply chain performance using scorecards, dashboards, control towers, and business intelligence outputs to identify opportunities that impact revenue, cost, and service metrics
• Apply digital tools and emerging technologies (ERP, CRM, SRM, blockchain, AI, modeling/simulation, and sandbox environments) to design resilient omnichannel and digital supply network solutions
• Evaluate sustainability, ethical sourcing, and circular-supply-chain initiatives using sustainability metrics and software to recommend measurable improvements in environmental and social outcomes
• Demonstrate risk management and crisis-response capabilities by developing contingency plans, conducting tabletop or sandbox simulations, and employing supply chain risk management tools to mitigate disruptions
