Learning Objectives

• Analyze features and specifications of radio control systems and compare major suppliers to select components that meet given robot performance and budget requirements
• Apply step‑by‑step procedures to install, configure, and integrate RC hardware and achieve reliable remote and hybrid (RC/autonomous) control modes on a robot platform
• Demonstrate safe, proper use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, adhesives, and cutting implements, including techniques to avoid cuts, pinch points, burns, slips, and electrical hazards (e.g., discharging capacitors, AC safety)
• Evaluate assembly and maintenance outcomes by troubleshooting common soldering and adhesive failures, documenting repairs, and producing a validated parts list and supplier justification for a completed build
