Scaling and Sustaining Agile Delivery

This unit focuses on managing and scaling Agile execution across teams by addressing cost, communication, risk, procurement, and governance in Agile contexts. Students will learn practical techniques for backlog elaboration, sprint planning, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change using frameworks such as LeSS, SAFe, and Scrum@Scale, preparing them to implement and sustain Agile practices in preparation for the culminating unit.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze differences between Agile and traditional approaches to cost, communication, and risk management and explain implications for multi-team environments using examples from LeSS, SAFe, and Scrum@Scale
• Apply Agile budgeting, procurement, backlog elaboration, and sprint planning techniques to develop a release-level plan that produces valuable, usable, and releasable increments
• Demonstrate stakeholder engagement and communication strategies (including information radiators and tool selection) to reduce disengagement and increase collaboration and ownership across teams
• Evaluate change-management approaches and construct a change roadmap (drawing on Platinum Edge, PMI/Agile Alliance guidance, and organizational alignment strategies) to support initial adoption and long-term sustainability of Agile practices
