Security Awareness Program Implementation

This unit prepares students to operationalize, measure, and sustain a people-centered security awareness program. Building on foundational cybersecurity concepts, students learn to create branded campaigns, apply human factors principles, measure Day‑0 and ongoing metrics, and produce management-level reporting to guide continuous improvement.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze baseline (Day 0) and ongoing security awareness metrics to calculate key performance indicators (e.g., phishing click rates, remediation times), identify trends, and prioritize program interventions
• Design a branded, mission-aligned security awareness program that integrates human factors, physical security, social engineering countermeasures, gamification, and real incident case studies to improve engagement and reduce organizational risk
• Demonstrate the ability to implement and manage awareness activities by producing a 30-day rollout plan that includes campaign schedules, training/course delivery elements, repeat-offender remediation processes, and incident-responsive communications
• Evaluate program credibility and effectiveness by preparing executive-level management reports that highlight early wins, address FUD, recommend data-driven adjustments, and justify resource allocation
