Foundations of Agribusiness Careers

This unit introduces students to career self‑assessment, exploration of roles across agribusiness and related STEM and service fields, and practical job‑search skills including research, resume writing, networking, interviewing, and onboarding. Students will build foundational professional artifacts and a short‑term career action plan that prepare them for deeper specialization in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze personal values, interests, skills, and work‑life principles using at least two career assessments and identify a minimum of three agribusiness or related career pathways that align with assessment results, citing lesson evidence
• Apply digital research and information‑literacy strategies to locate, evaluate, and annotate at least five credible articles or videos about targeted careers using Google and other online tools
• Develop professional job‑search artifacts including a targeted résumé, a 30‑second elevator pitch, and a networking plan, and submit these artifacts for peer and instructor feedback
• Demonstrate interview and early‑employment readiness by completing a graded mock interview, producing a 30–60–90 day onboarding checklist, and creating a measurable 6‑month career action plan with milestones
