This capstone unit integrates design, delivery, and implementation decisions for real-world instructional projects across K–12, higher education, informal settings, and health sciences. Students refine deliverables, select accessible technologies and supports, and prepare for instructional design careers by applying collaboration, evaluation, and implementation strategies.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze real-time feedback, tech-support needs, and delivery timelines to select appropriate instructional delivery methods and supports for diverse learning environments
- Apply design principles to create activities and deliverables that promote transfer, learning-by-doing, and appropriate complexity for learners in schools, informal institutions, and medical/health settings
- Demonstrate the development of implementation artifacts (e.g., implementation debrief checklist, deliverable examples, and collaboration plans) that ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and adequate technical support
- Evaluate personal career readiness and professional competencies by connecting with other designers, identifying job competencies, and planning next steps for a career in instructional design
