This unit advances students’ skills in multispectral and spatial data processing, covering spectral enhancement (IHS, de-correlation, Brovey, PCA), filtering, and contrast methods; image registration and warping; InSAR/DEM generation; and both unsupervised and supervised classification. It also integrates GIS concepts — datums/projections, map algebra, interpolation, surface visualization, uncertainty, and decision-support workflows — to produce thematic maps for real-world applications such as mineral mapping, earthquake damage modelling, and water resource exploration.
