This unit focuses on advanced research, risk management, and practical application of generative AI tools for securities, ETFs, mutual funds, and real estate investing. Students integrate macroeconomic, tax, regulatory, privacy, and documentation practices while developing prompt design, verification, and second-opinion workflows to support informed investment decisions.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze and compare AI tools, directories, government agencies, and finance-specific resources to assess reliability, privacy risks, and suitability for ETF, mutual fund, and real estate investment research
• Evaluate macroeconomic factors (including inflation and Federal Reserve policy), the political landscape, and tax implications to adjust investment strategies and interpret AI-generated insights responsibly
• Apply risk-management and diversification techniques—such as limiting losses, incorporating hard assets and savings bonds, and using robo-advisors—while maintaining documentation and a clear paper trail for investment decisions
• Demonstrate effective prompt design (including multilingual prompts), use of productivity and document-analysis AI tools, and the practice of obtaining second opinions and human verification to validate AI outputs
