Automation Architecture and Leadership

This unit examines how organizations design, integrate, and lead automation initiatives—moving from opportunity identification to architectural decisions and change management. Students explore checklists, Jobs-to-Be-Done, orchestration building blocks, integration patterns, generative AI platforms, and use cases (e.g., IT service management and RevOps) to prepare for implementing and governing automated processes.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze business processes using Jobs-to-Be-Done principles and checklist techniques to identify, prioritize, and justify automation opportunities
• Apply architectural styles and integration patterns to design a hypothetical end-to-end automated process, specifying orchestration building blocks and platform choices
• Demonstrate the ability to create an integration and orchestration strategy that addresses fragmentation, incorporates actionable generative AI where appropriate, and maps technical components to business outcomes
• Evaluate organizational impacts of automation—including shifts in career paths, RevOps implications, and change leadership approaches—and propose a stakeholder-aligned adoption plan
