Causal Model Design & Collaboration

This unit introduces students to conceptual and process modeling for causal AI, the fundamental building blocks of causal models, and the elements of effective visual representations. It also covers collaboration between business and analytics professionals, hybrid team roles, and the stepwise causal-modeling process to prepare learners for hands-on model creation.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze conceptual and process models to identify variables, causal relationships, confounders, and potential sources of bias in Causal AI scenarios
• Apply visual modeling principles to produce clear diagrams that represent causal assumptions and support stakeholder communication
• Demonstrate effective collaboration by defining roles, responsibilities, and communication workflows for hybrid teams working on causal-modeling projects
• Evaluate and sequence the steps of a causal-modeling process to plan, document, and prepare complex models for subsequent creation and validation
