Client-Side Programming and UI Foundations

This unit deepens learners’ skills in building responsive user interfaces and client-side application logic using HTML/CSS (Flexbox, Bootstrap), JavaScript (variables, arrays, control flow, functions, closures, DOM/BOM, events, forms, JSON), and introductory Flutter/Dart concepts. It also introduces basic Python data handling and visualization to prepare students for integrating data-driven features and for advanced mobile application development in subsequent units.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze and construct responsive layouts using Flexbox and Bootstrap to meet specified UI/UX requirements for mobile applications
• Apply JavaScript programming fundamentals (variables, arrays, operators, loops, functions, objects, and closures) to manipulate the DOM/BOM, handle events, and validate form data
• Demonstrate the ability to model, serialize, and parse data using JSON and integrate that data into application components, including basic Flutter/Dart widgets and navigation patterns
• Evaluate structured and unstructured datasets using Python tools (Anaconda environment, flat-file access, validation) and create basic visualizations (axis, ticks, grids, scatterplots) to support app features
