Designing AI-Driven Spatial Experiences

This unit explores how AI (including ML, DL, and computer vision) is integrated into spatial computing to create immersive, measurable, and compliant experiences. Students will move from conceptual virtualization to practical implementation, ethical governance, sensory design, and performance monitoring to prepare for advanced development and deployment in the final unit.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze how AI virtualization and spatial computing architectures (including ML/DL and computer vision pipelines) transform business and user experiences and identify appropriate application domains
• Apply machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision concepts to design a prototype spatial use case that incorporates sensory design, UX/CX/EX considerations, and collaborative connectivity
• Demonstrate the ability to create an ethical and regulatory compliance plan for a spatial computing deployment, including data governance, privacy safeguards, and transparent AI practices
• Evaluate monitoring and optimization strategies by defining key spatial metrics, instrumentation methods, and iterative improvement processes to maintain performance, safety, and user satisfaction
