This unit prepares prospective medical students for the admissions landscape, financial realities, and the first months of medical school. Students will examine equity and accommodations issues, develop financial and transition plans, and learn practical cultural and professional knowledge not found in textbooks.

- Evaluate federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid options and create a personalized budget and loan repayment plan for medical school
- Apply time-management, study, and wellness strategies to develop a detailed first-semester transition plan that supports academic success and resilience
- Demonstrate understanding of professional culture by interpreting common non-textbook medical terms and identifying appropriate steps to request accommodations and support services
