DevOps Design and Operations

This unit develops practical skills for designing resilient, maintainable systems and operating them with DevOps practices. Students learn to translate requirements into automated testing, CI/CD, cloud migration, incident handling, and human-centered operational processes that enable continuous delivery and rapid feedback.

Learning Objectives

• Analyze organizational readiness and the technology adoption curve to create a prioritized DevOps adoption roadmap with stakeholder communication strategies
• Apply design-for-DevOps and engineering-for-error patterns to architect maintainable code, robust APIs, and systems that support the six core DevOps capabilities
• Demonstrate automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery workflows across development and testing environments using infrastructure-as-code and cloud provisioning techniques
• Evaluate cloud service models, migration strategies, and human-centered on-call and incident management practices to recommend operational changes that improve velocity and reliability
