This unit examines AI-enhanced productivity tools and foundational cybersecurity practices for instructional settings. Students will integrate productivity software and generative-AI workflows into lesson design while applying policies and technical safeguards to protect student data and maintain ethical use.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze how AI-enhanced productivity tools (e.g., content generation, collaboration platforms, LMS integrations) support lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management by comparing features, limitations, and accessibility of at least three tools
- Apply AI-assisted productivity tools to design and produce instructional artifacts (e.g., lesson plans, rubrics, multimedia learning objects) and upload or configure them within an LMS or shared workspace following accessibility best practices
- Demonstrate secure configuration and operational practices for productivity and AI tools by implementing account controls, authentication, data encryption or storage settings, and role-based permissions to protect student information
- Evaluate ethical, legal, and privacy risks associated with generative AI and cloud-based productivity tools and develop a compliant mitigation plan that addresses FERPA, district policies, data retention, and responsible AI use
